Ingredients
  

  • 8 ounces of udon noodles
  • 1 pound of shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves of garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of mirin (or substitute with 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar and 1 teaspoon of sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 2 green onions (sliced for garnish)

Instructions
 

  • Cook the Udon Noodles
    Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
    Add the udon noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
    Drain and set aside.
  • Sauté the Shrimp
    In a large skillet, melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat.
    Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
    Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the skillet.
    Cook for 3-4 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  • Combine Ingredients
    Pour in the soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
    Stir well to combine and allow the flavors to meld for another 2 minutes.
  • Add Udon Noodles
    Add the cooked udon noodles to the skillet with the shrimp and sauce.
